I got out of the house at 8.30a.m and reached home at 1.30p.m. And I'll only be paid $27 for the day. Man..I'm really earning peanuts k.
Took half day today cos I couldn't stand shivering in the office any longer. And I was wearing long-sleeved blouse lah. I can't describe the terrible feeling of being hot inside but cold on the outside. Plus my throat inflamation makes it hard for my to even swallow saliva. And for the first time in my "illness history" my ears are blocked?!
So weird lah..when my colleagues talked to me I went "haha can talk louder cos my ears are blocked". Not as if I was taking a lift to the 70th storey..I was only on level 3.
Anyway, I wonder why did i decide to go to work ytd night. It's not as if the office operations will be hindered because of my absence. Probably because I didn't want to miss the lion dance. Yeah, some guys with tattoo all over were drowning the entire office with their drums and cymbals. The funny thing was if you wanted the lion to bless your desk, you have to put 2 mandarin oranges and angbao on your table. Then the guy inside will peel the oranges and grab the angbao (obviously) and it's supposedly good luck for the person whom the lion "pays a visit" to.
Oh man I should have taken a picture of the mandarin oranges Adeline bought. Think she specially ordered it from some funny plantation..it's twice the size of normal oranges?! I bet if I dug out my heart the oranges are much bigger in size. (in case you didn't know, your heart is of the size of your fist)
Jackie (the big big boss) had her table blessed as well. Hhm..but I thought she didn't believe in such stuff. The bosses and bosses of the bosses even had a group photo taken at her table.
The funniest was Malese lah. She placed two toto tickets beside her angbao for the lion to fill in lucky numbers arh! LOLS. And the funny thing was the guy in the lion really took the time and effort to shade in numbers for her. While everybody was laughing and wondering why the lion took eternity at Malese's table I peeped through the lion's mouth and saw the guy scratching his head :) :) And you won't believe Malese is a mother of two if you see her in person.
As usual, kor kor Sean was made the department co-ordinator for the entire thing. He's always made in charge of all the random stuff. The pek chek thing was he couldn't be at his desk for the entire morning..so I had to be on the constant lookout for him just to inform him I wanted to go home. I couldn't believe it when he said "aiyoh, taking results only mah, no need stress until sick". I was thinking in my head, is it even possible to be stressed over collecting results till one falls sick?! Nervousness, anxiety, gloominess..all these are still acceptable to me arh. But huh?! Cannot see that I really sick meh? :(
My grandma's bday is on sat in batam..but don't think I can make it cos I'm down for worship this Sat. Plus after getting my results on Fri I prob won't have mood to go anywhere. Anyway..what can I say..must put God first? So I have to forgo all the fun and angbaos. My relatives in batam super generous one eh..mostly $10 angbaos... :( :(
And my elder bro went back to Australia yesterday. Sigh..I'll have to start getting used to life without him again. No more free rides..no more free supper..no more hysterical laughters.
Some random photos taken during cny.
